Professor Tobin
Professor Tobin is a lead member of the Centre for Skin Sciences at Bradford University, where he lectures in Cell Biology. Professor Tobin has been advisor to Yin Yang's parent company,Trinity LifeCare Holdings Ltd since 2006, and he has been on the Yin Yang Natural Sciences Ltd Scientific Advisory Board since 2007.
Professor Tobin describes the skin:
"The skin, our body’s largest organ, is located at the interface between the external and internal environments, and so is strategically placed to provide not only a barrier against a range of noxious stressors (UV radiation, mechanical, chemical and biological insults), but also to act as the periphery’s ‘sensing’ system. Recent developments suggest that this organ is much more critical to maintaining body homeostasis than previously thought.The multicellular, multi-component organ has its own constituent mini-organs (e.g., hair follicles), innervation system, vascular system, muscle system, immune systems, and endocrine systems, and so provides a wealth of opportunity to tackle most if not all of biology’s basic questions".
