The Mask should be used regularly for all skin types two to three times a month. To remove deep seated impurities as well as dead skin cells. Spread thinly all over the face and neck, avoiding the most delicate area around the eyes.  

For all but the most sensitive skin it can be left on for 20 minutes.  For a fine, sensitive skin it is best left on for just 8 to 10 minutes.  Due to the emollient oil, it does not dry to a hard paste and is easily removed with cotton wool soaked in tepid water, before thorough cleansing with the Yin Yang Skin Cleanser.   
 
The mask can be used daily on acne blemishes and individual spots as part of the complete Yin Yang routine for acne, which also recommends thorough cleansing with Yin Yang Skin Cleanser and the Orange Flower Tonic spray three times a day.

The use of clays and earths for cleansing, decorating, and healing the skin has a history almost as old as Mankind. Archaeological evidence reveals that by 6000BC the peoples of Mesopotamia were using clay on their skin for medicinal purposes. When used in skincare, facial masks formulated with clay, perform important cleansing, exfoliating and toning functions.

The clay used in Yin Yang Kaolin Face Mask is mined in Cornwall. China clay as it is otherwise known, is formed by decomposition of feldspar minerals in granite to form the white clay mineral kaolinite. This process is known as kaolinisation, a process whereby feldspar is weathered by hydrothermal activity to produce kaolinite. The kaolinisation process was probably accentuated by weathering during periods of warmer climate 50-60 million years ago. The china clay deposits in Cornwall are the largest in the world and have been worked since 1746. But the first use of Kaolin or China clay was over one thousand years ago in China for the purposes of making a pure white type of porcelain.
